ATTENTION BIDDERS!! NEW INFORMATION!!
The weather outside is getting frightful - but bidding from home is delightful! (Sorry - I just had to say that.) Order pizza, crank up the fireplace and bid victoriously tonight! :)
PICK-UP PLANS: The weather won't be great on Thursday, but even colder on Friday. We are intending to have our original pick up on Thursday from 10 AM-5 PM - just as planned. If the weather/roads just will not allow for travel - we would make arrangements for an additional pick up time for next week. If - only if - that is necessary, you will receive another email with that notification. If you don't hear from us with a change of plans, please plan on being there on Thursday.
END OF THE AUCTION: At the end of the auction, you will receive an invoice for your winning bids. Print and bring that with you to pick up. You can pay by cash (correct change PLEASE) or check at pick up. We will not charge credit cards until after pick up. You don't need to call or email your payment plans. We will have a "check-out", just like a live auction.
WHAT TO BRING: Bring your boxes, packing materials, any tools you might need, loading assistance and your sense of humor. We will only have our cashiers at pick up. Because we are women, we can tell you how to do it and what you are doing wrong, but we can't actually help you load it. We are efficient cashiers but whiny and lousy at loading. I promise it will be cold and parking will be an issue but, gosh darn it, we will be all there doing this together and bonding... :)
Good luck! Call if you need help and we will see all the Winning Bidders tomorrow morning. Dress warm!
Every now and then we are lucky enough to sell an estate for a family who purchased only the best. Much of what they bought was from decades ago - 1960's and 1970's - but it was quality and that is enduring. They traveled, knew and appreciated art, and apparently loved to entertain. Everything in the house was in the best of condition - the couple had no children (and apparently, that is the secret, however it is too late for most of us - ha!).
Art and Antiques: In addition to Carson Donnell Woodcuts, we found beautiful Vintage Paintings, both Oil and Watercolors, Sculptures, Bronzes, Tiffany items, Elegant Cambridge Glass, Sterling and Silverplate Items, Cut Glass by the boxfull, Old German Child's Kitchen Collectibles, Local Advertising Items, Original Important Engravings, Mirrors and Lamps....etc. Do yourself a favor - look through the Art, Antiques and Collectibles catalog - there is something for everyone here!
Then the furniture: Nearly every item in the house is included in the invoices we found in the house. Almost everything came from one of the most high end furniture stores of that time, 1969: Lammert's in St. Louis, MO. Keep in mind that once they paid those amazingly high prices for the furniture, then, they picked out the high-end fabric for every upholstered item and paid for fabric and labor for each piece on top of the high purchase price I quoted. Everything is in the best possible shape!
